MONICA RUNDE

Mónica Runde has a degree in Choreography and Interpretation, a master's degree in Visual Arts and graphic design. She furthered her dance studies at the CDI Rosella Hightower in Cannes, York University in Toronto and London Contemporary School. He has studied camera and post production at the LENS school, piano at the Nice Music Conservatory and is self-taught in composition and creation of sound spaces and in the creation of videos for the scene. 

Promoter together with Alberto Garcia of Emprendo Danza, being then president of the Cultural Association for Dance and member of the executive of the Association of Dance Professionals of Madrid.

Founding member of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts.

National Dance Award of Spain in the year 2000, National Dance Award of Costa Rica in 2004,

Community of Madrid Culture Award 2011, ADE Award and finalist for best choreographic production in 1991 and 1996, UP Special Award for his entire career in 2000 and second Ricard Moragas Award in 1992.

 

In theater, cinema, operas, zarzuelas, installations and dance companies, she works as a choreographer for actors and dancers, stage movement, creation of sound space and creation of videos for the stage with directors such as John Malkovich, Guillermo Heras, Natalia Menéndez, Rafael Alcazar, Tomás Muñoz, Manuel Guede, Carlos A Alonso, Manuel Collado, Enrique Cabrera (Aracaladanza), Luis Carlos Cuevas, Gonzalo Simón,  Inés Narváez, Ballet Magdeburg, National and Chamber Companies UNA of Costa Rica, etc.

 

As an interpreter, she has danced works by Ashton, Nureyev, Petipá and Makarova, etc. in their classical stage, in contemporary dance and modern dance choreographies by Paul Taylor, Merce Cuninngham, Robert Cohan, Carl Paris, Diola Maristany, Paul Grey, Airton Tenorio, Daniel Abreu, Pedro Berdäyes, Claudia Faci, Julie West, Carmen Senra, Teresa Nieto, Inés Narváez Arróspide, Carmen Werner and Cesc Gelabert. As an actress with directors Julian Fuentes Reta and Guillermo Womutt.

 

His latest works in 2020 - 2023 

“Las Musas”, Video-scene and sound space, directed by Inés Narváez premiered at the SURGE 2020 Festival in the Sala Cuarta Pared.

"Dos de Gala" interpreter, video scene and sound space with direction, dramaturgy, set design, costumes by Narváez, Runde and Sanz. Premiered at the Teatros del Canal, Sala Negra, Madrid.

"My first production only on VHS" performance installation within the "Jornadas de Plástica escénica" organized at the Centro Dramático Nacional by the AAPEE and the AAI. "Ephemeral Sketch #13" in the Prado Museum, Bosco Room.

"No sé" video and sound space. Original idea by Inés Narváez. Premiered at DT Espacio Escénico, Madrid

"Precipitados" interpreter, video scene and sound space with direction, dramaturgy, set design, costumes by Narváez, Runde and Sanz. Premiered at the Teatros del Canal, Sala Negra, Madrid.

"Las dos en punto" stage movement and choreography for text by Esther F. Carrodeguas directed by Natalia Menéndez. Premiered at the Naves del Español in Matadero.
